— The app called “Fleet Farm” is now available for Colorado farmers and rancher Johns Field Farm, according to a statement from the company.
The farm has been selling a free version of the app for a few months, the company said.
“It’s been really hard for us to keep up with the demand for our products and service, and the demand has really outstripped our capacity to offer the product,” the statement read.
Farming for the app has been a priority for the Johns family, and they’ve been looking for ways to help customers make better decisions.
Johns Field, with about 2,200 acres in northern Colorado, announced earlier this year that it would be the first farm in the U.S. to offer free online farm sales.
The family hopes the app will help them better understand their customers and help them improve their supply chain.
In addition to the app, Johns says it’s partnering with other major food companies and food service providers to offer more mobile app access.
A number of farmers and food companies are participating in the program, including Whole Foods, Sam’s Club, Blue Apron, KFC and McDonalds.
