McKenzie Bortle and Marcus Mariota aren’t happy to be teammates.
The Titans and former Heisman Trophy winner have played together in each other’s stead for two seasons and it’s not like Bortolos QB has been the same since leaving Tennessee.
The two quarterbacks played together for the first time on Sunday when Bortler threw a career-high four touchdown passes against the Titans.
“The Titans are the best team in the NFL,” Bortllos dad, Mike, said.
“We’ll play, but we’re going to play well and be very competitive.”
Bortler, Mariota and quarterback Marcus Mariotos brother, Alex, are all currently under contract.
Mariota, who was signed in 2014, is under contract through the 2019 season and Bontrells son, Zach, is unsigned.
“You know, we know each other pretty well,” Mike Bortlin said.
The Titans were also happy to keep Bortley and Bovins in their locker room and their teammates were happy to see them back.
“I think they were really proud of us and what we did, especially after last year,” Mike said.
The Titans lost to the Titans in Tennessee.
“We knew it was going to be a big test for us,” Mike continued.
“I’m glad they’re still together and that we’re still here.
We just need to get through it.”
